The Recreation Commission is also reviewing extending the hours at Whitmore Pool, even though the equipment there is also in need of repair. Last month several swimmers came before the Recreation Commission and asked that the pool be operated for the entire month of September rather than closing on Labor Day Weekend. The Commission reviewed the costs and determined that if those who were interested in the extended hours would be willing to pay for an extra, special pass that would cover the three week timeframe then the Commission would be willing to consider it. “We could call it the Whitmore Black Pass,” Commissioner Tony Colasardo joked.
