Caltrans road work

Caltrans District 9 Director Tom Hallenbeck recently announced the following project awards:

1. Approval of a $3,586,007 pavement rehabilitation project. The project consists of rehabilitating 10 miles of Route 270 (Bodie Road) beginning at the Route 395/270 intersection.

The contract was awarded to Sierra Nevada Construction from Reno, Nev. and construction on this project has begun. The anticipated completion date is Sept. 1. The traveling public is advised that there will be one way traffic with flaggers and possible delays.

2. Approval of a $1.2 million highway project. The project consists of widening the shoulders on U.S. 395, 1.5 miles north of Bridgeport.

The contract was awarded to Sierra Nevada Construction from Sparks, Nev. Construction on this project was scheduled to begin June 13. The anticipated completion date is Sept. 1. This operation is dependent on favorable weather.  If this operation is impacted by weather work will take place on the next favorable weather day. If traffic control is required the delays to the traveling public will be less than 10 minutes.

3. Approval of a $427,245 highway project. The project consists of constructing barrier railing on U.S. 395 near Lee Vining from Utility Road to Lee Vining Avenue.

The contract was awarded to Q & D Construction from Reno, Nev. and construction on this project has begun. The anticipated completion date is July 28. The traveling public is advised that there may be lane closures with flaggers.

4. Approval of a $1.6 million highway project. The project consists of planning the asphalt concrete pavement and replacing with hot mix asphalt near Tom’s Place from 0.6 miles north of Lower Rock Creek Road to 0.1 mile north of Crooked Creek Bridge.

The contract was awarded to Granite Construction Company from Watsonville, Calif. Construction on this project was scheduled to begin June 13. The anticipated completion date is July 1. The traveling public is advised that there will be traffic control with flaggers and the anticipated delays will be less than 5 minutes.

5. Approval of a $283,306 culvert replacement project. The project consists of replacing culverts on SR 136 near Keeler and on SR 190 near Olancha.

The contract was awarded to S T Rhoades Construction, Inc. from Redding, Calif. and construction on this project has begun.  The anticipated completion date is Aug. 1. The traveling public is advised that there will be flaggers with a pilot car during the daylight hours only. –Caltrans
