The White Mountain Research Station will host a special geology lecture on Thursday, October 27 at 7 p.m.

Dr. Jason Saleeby, from the California Institute of Technology, Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences will present a talk entitled, “Epeirogenic transients related to mantle lithosphere removal in the Southern Sierra Nevada Region, California.”

Professor Saleeby has worked on a broad spectrum of geological problems aimed primarily at developing a better understanding of the tectonics of the Earth’s mountain belts and, in particular, ocean basin continental margin interactions and crustal-formation processes along western North America.

Come here what he has to say this Thursday at 3000 East Line Street in Bishop. The lecture is free and open to the public. Call 760.873.4344 for more information.
