Joe Walker

In the Santa Barbara Superior Court on Friday, Feb. 10, Joe Walker’s hearing was rescheduled for March 9.

Walker was arrested in Mammoth Lakes along with Dr. Andrew Bourne on Jan. 4. With the recent suicide of Bourne, Walker now stands alone with the charges against him.

Walker was arrested and booked for 6 counts of 288.3 PC, illegal communication with a minor to facilitate sexual activity and 1 count of 288 (c)(1) PC, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.

Bail for Walker was originally set at $1 million but was reduced on Jan. 10 to $750,000. Walker posted bail shortly after the reduction.

Walker, the son of former, longtime Whiskey Creek owner Sam Walker, moved to Mammoth as a child and started the Looney Bean in 1992 with his brother, Chris. The two, however, sold the business approximately five years later.
