MHS football golf tourney
Sierra Star Golf Course presents the Annual Mammoth High School Football Golf Tourney fundraiser coming up on Sunday, Aug. 5. The scramble format is $125 per player, and includes a full 18 holes and lunch, raffles a Par 3 dart game and awards.
Check in from 7:30-8:15 a.m. Shotgun start is promptly at 8: 30 a.m.
Proceeds help the Mammoth High School Huskies Football Program raise money for travel and equipment.

June Lake kids art camps
Free Summer Kids Art Camps continue at the June Mountain Conference Center at the base of June Mountain Ski Area (building to the left), Aug. 2-3 and 9-10. Kids 5-8 from 9-11 a.m. and kids 8 and up 1-3 p.m. each day. Classes taught by art teacher Annie Reavey. Learn to paint, sculpt animals and aliens, marbling, murals, caligraphy, mobiles, drawing and Mexican art. Classes are free, thanks to support from Mono Council for the Arts and the Walter Lantz foundation (thank you, Woody Woodpecker).

Church on the Mountain in Crowley Lake will hosts its 40th Anniversary Celebration, Aug. 2-5. Scheduled among the festivities: special guest speakers, fun outdoor activities, and a potluck dinner on Saturday night. Mammoth Outdoor Sports hosts 8 weeks of the Village Championships Cross Country Bike Race Series at Shady Rest Park starting Tuesday, July 10. Register in advance at Mammoth Outdoor Sports in the Sierra Center Mall or at the event. Sign up begins at 4:30 p.m.; racing starts at 5:30 p.m.
