Husky Pups raise the bar in annual Fun Run

The most fun and successful fundraiser in Mammoth Lakes this year was not put on by a team of producers, and does not include expensive tickets, wine, or live auctions. Rather, the 24th Husky Pup Fun Run was put on by almost 600 kids between the ages of 4 and 10, and it was again a huge success.
This year the event raised $23,900 — a 34% increase from last year and a record for the most money raised at a Husky Pup Fun Run.
The Mammoth Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization produces the Husky Pup Fun Run and it is the MESPTO’s biggest fundraiser of the school year. Students run laps on the school field and collect pledges from supporters for their efforts. Some students ran for 10 minutes. Some ran for 45 minutes.
More than 50 volunteers and parents happily spent their morning of Oct. 5 coordinating the event and donating their services. All proceeds will go toward school activities including enrichment classes, field trips and assemblies, as well as classroom supplies for the students and teachers at Mammoth Elementary School.
