Bears

Mammoth’s bears have fattened up and are bedding down for the winter. Some, however, are choosing den spots in inappropriate locations such as underneath decks. Wildlife Specialist Steve Searles has been working to rouse bears such as this one from their bad location choices and shoo them off to find a better place to lay their heads. According to Searles, perhaps five bears each year do end up under decks, but as the snow piles up, people passing by may never know it.
