YIKES! I was up last week with a buddy who is an expert skier and former instructor. I was on my snowboard, and he had me drop in behind him on this same run. It was very hard packed and fairly icey. I made one turn, washed out onto my ass, and slid down the entire face of the slope basically on my back and forearms with my board in the air in front of me. The scariest part, I was actually accelerating and I was going down. I was going way to fast to try and dig my board in and get up. Fortunately, I never started pinwheeling, never hit a rock, and was wearing a helmet which I believe the victim in this article wasn’t. Think I’ll stay off that run for a while, at least until theres a foot or more of fresh powder covering it. Len
