Town Planner Sandra Moberly (center) poses with Johnny Goetz and Patricia Kent during Wednesday’s Town Council meeting. Kent and Goetz were the first two Town staffers who took part in the Town’s new Introduction program. Town Manager Marianna Marysheva-Martinez said the idea is to introduce staff members to the Council and public during Town Council meeting, to let them know who is working behind the scenes, and highlight their backgrounds, responsibilities and accomplishments.
Goetz, the Town’s Assistant Building Official, is well known for his work with the contracting community as a building inspector. He also has worked closely with the Fire Department on the recent legislation involving upgrade and replacement of wood stove inserts. Goetz is also known for wearing his trademark shorts, even during the winter. (He was wearing them Wednesday night.) Goetz is also recently a father for the second time.
Kent, an Accounting Assistant who works in TOT Compliance, is a newcomer to Mammoth. She and her husband, who works with Wave Rave as a designer, moved here just about two years ago. A graduate of Amherst College in Massachusetts, Kent started with the Town a year or so ago, at first as an unpaid volunteer, but was hired full time as of October 2012. She’s an avid snowboarder.
