Letters to the Editor
Dear Editor ...

Make it blow somewhere else!

Dear Editor:

Reading The Sheet on the shores of Silver Lake, I laughed so hard I may have missed a big fish. (No Enforcement, Plenty of Emission, Aug. 10).

A taxpayer-paid officer from the Great Basin Unified Air Pollution Control District actually testified at a Town Council meeting that the GBUAPCD was in conversation with state firefighters, trying to educate them to not allow smoke from westside fires to blow east.

This same officer would probably have us believe that the replacement of 27 older wood stoves would remove 1,000 pounds of air pollution annually. Oh wait . . . he co-presented with the administrator of the Clean Air Projects Program, who said exactly that.

Talk about pulling stuff out of thin air!
