The Huskies caught the Rockets on the launch pad Friday as 3 plays into the game the Huskies Alex Mueller got a quick pick 6 to get the Huskies going. Even though the Dawgs fumbled twice and were penalized 14 times for 140 yards they still couldn’t be slowed down. The Rockets, a smaller team in size and numbers and just a couple years into 11-man football, did what they could but had little luck slowing down the Huskies jaugernaught Friday. Even with several touchdowns being called back and the JV team being freely substituted into the game by the Huskies coaches, the Rockets tired and the score ended up lopsided.
The Huskies O went wild Friday. On the rushing side, Steven Orrick carried 18 times for 113 yards and a TD. EJ Banda ran the orb 7 times for 48 yeards and a TD. Dennis Orrick, back from a bruised knee and used sparingly, carried twice for 23 yards. Matt Graef rushed 5 times for 15 yards and a score, Nate Liuag ran 9 times for 118 years and a T and Lucas Underkoffler carried 3 times for 21 yards anad a score. L. Underkoffler had success throwing going 4 for 5 and gaining 108. Cody Underkoffler caught 1 pass, Ricky Cuellar hauled 1 in and Alex Mueller caught 2 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown. In total the Huskies were able to generate a huge 657 total all purpose yards.
On Defense the Dawg’s Pablo Apodaca had a sack. Pedro Garcia, Banda, Mueller, Graef and Cuellar combined for 5 interceptions.  The Huskies kept the pressure on the Rockets not allowing them to score until late in the 3rd quarter when substitutions were happening.
The Huskies will be preparing in earnest for their homecoming game against Excelsior Charter at Gault McClure field this Friday night.
