MHS wins sharp competition

From Coach Sarah Wood (MHS ‘04): MHS Cheer won a Sharp International cheerleading event last weekend at Six Flags Magic Mtn. The only other small or medium varsity squad dropped out, so they put us in the large, advanced division. While I was happy to have the girls competing against such great squads, it was intimidating. We saw a few squads go before us. They were huge! 20+ girls doing very difficult things, but there were mistakes. Our girls, all 9 of them, performed an almost perfect routine. And they won - first place in two divisions and a showmanship award ... Pictured kneeling (left-to-right): Freshmen Torrie Patrie, Maria Lampariello, Gloria Oliver, Haven Peabody. Top row: Senior Chelsea Foulke, Junior Lydia Shultz, and Seniors Bailey Voss, Sharon McIntosh, Sierra Hogan. Wood also wished to recognize MHS Cheer Director Cindie Wormhoudt.
