MMSA follows through
I wanted to take a moment and thank MMSA for standing by their commitment to operate June Mountain in a responsible manner in what will undoubtedly go down as one of the worst winters in history.
There were numerous times, honestly just about anytime, this winter where it would have been hard to argue not to shut June down, but MMSA persevered.
In my opinion nothing that MMSA might have said, promised or signed could have done more to win back community support and build a sense of trust and cooperation than keeping the ski area operating.
A special call out is due Carl Williams, General Manager, and all the June Mountain employees. There’s not a more thankless job than trying to keep a ski area going during a drought and I still don’t know how they did it.
From the great grooming crew, who literally kept the Mtn alive to Julie Brown and her Ski School, Eric Diem and Patrol, Ticketing, Sport shop, Kitchen and Lift Ops, every Department stepped up and delivered an “A” game day in and day out in the toughest of circumstances.
With MMSAs continued support and Carl and his drought hardened crew in place I can’t wait to see what June Mountain will deliver when Mother Nature shows back up next ski season …
