Mammoth AYSO had an amazing season!  Our Mammoth AYSO teams (U10-U15) play in our local Joe Staff Memorial Tournament annually.  This event celebrates volunteerism within AYSO.  The winners move on to the next level tournament in Carson City (“Cookies Best” ) where they compete with other teams in our region.  Mammoth had an amazing four teams go to the finals at this tournament.  Both the U12 boys and U12 girls won first place.  Both teams then moved on to the Foster City, CA Region 2 Championship the weekend of Dec 13th.  All traveled in the stormy weather to represent Mammoth Lakes just south of San Francisco.  Out of an estimated 18,000 kids in our region, Mammoth U12 boys and U12 girls made it to a series of approximately 6 teams in their division.  Both Mammoth teams lost in a single elimination game (due to huge amounts of rain in the Bay Area, the tournament was moved to single elimination format).  They played on artificial turf, the grounds were wet and fast; but all played amazing.  The boys lost 5-0 in a morning game.  The girls played one player short in an afternoon game due to the flu bug, they lost an impressive 2-1.  Way to go Mammoth AYSO!
