Wild Card Weekend is over. I love the playoffs. And last week’s games were some of the weirdest games ever.
The Steelers survived a playoff game for the first time in 5 long turbulent years. Here is my take … the Bengals earned every flag they got. I have said for years the Bengals are fundamentally flawed and they keep doing it over and over again. You can have ONE knucklehead if you have others to lead that jackass. IF that knucklehead jackass IS YOUR LEADER and you pair him wiith other dumbasses, you get what you deserve. No playoff wins or BIG GAME wins in any season because they are built to self-destruct
Bengal LB Burfict has been out of control all season. Did you see the Burfict hit against the Ravens the week before? Disgusting. He runs up the whole field and up the tunnel into the locker room after an interception. Refs let that go. He just kept spiraling out of control and figured he would take a cheap shot at Brown because he figured they had won and he didn’t give a damn about the penalty. I bet he cares now.
As for Marvin Lewis… the owner gave him control of the roster. So he looks out at the field and sees that collection of malcontents and criminals and is okay with it? He needs to hire a GM and move on. After the game he said his team didn’t have breaks go their way and blah blah blah. No self awareness. Fire the coach and get better leaders.
I am gonna say the same thing about Burfict that I said about Greg Hardy. Pacman Jones, too. They are never going to be decent human beings. Because they don’t have to be. A football/baseball/basketball player can rape, beat up his wife, drive drunk and hit people and run (Marshawn Lynch) and do drugs on the dashboard of their car while driving in a parade. Some old white owner will pay a player they have the utmost disgust for if that player can win them a game or make them money. Don’t kid yourself. Burfict is an awful person. He intends to HURT people. You can see it in his play. He was the number one prospect in the USA when he came out of high school and only Arizona State signed him because everyone else was scared of him as far as his behavior. He was one of the best college football players in America when he came out of Arizona State and was drafted by NO ONE. But the Bengals signed him.
Vikings vs Seahawks. The whole game I kept saying … you can’t kick FGs only and win a playoff game. The Vikings and Norv Turner have the worst offense. Norv, turn your playbook to a page with the year 2016 on it. Why was Adrian Peterson 9 yards deep against a defense that fast? By the time he made moves sometimes the defense was 3 yards in the backfield. A couple times during the game you couldn’t even see him in the picture behind the QB he was so deep. Then he kept running wide and missing the holes. IF you think he hasn’t slowed down you are crazy. Every time he tried to go wide he had NO BURST. Next year his production is going to fall off a cliff. You could see the whole game the Vikes were happy to be winning by 1 point and thought as long as we keep playing this old-school keep it close cold weather football we are good. Dummies.
This week’s games:
Patriots laying 5 points against the Chiefs. I don’t like this line or game at all. The Chiefs are playing great football right now. The Pats are injured. I don’t trust Andy Reid or Alex Smith, but the team may be better right now than the Pats. The Pats are at home though. If Edelman and Gronk play, Pats win and you lay the 5 points. If they don’t play, take the Chiefs to cover the spread AND win the game. The Chiefs defense is very good and can hurt the PATs if they don’t have playmakers.
Cardinals laying 7 points to the Packers. Lay the points. The Cardinals have enough offense and defense to smoke the Packers. The Pack had one good game last week … against the KirkCousinses. That ain’t saying much.
Panthers laying 2.5 points to the Seabitches. Why do I think the ‘Hawks are going to win? Bad feeling. And I am sick to death of the ‘Hawks and their fans. As for character issues … don’t forget the Hawks drafted some guy named Frank Clark who had a HORRIBLE domestic abuse accusation against him last year. The team took him in the second round and have kind of swept it away so don’t be alarmed when he shows up on the police blotter and the team says “we are disappointed in …”
Broncos laying 7 points to the Steelers. Big number. Peyton is back. I am actually not upset about that. He isn’t the same guy he once was. He is immobile, arm weak and can’t move. So naturally the Steelers will not blitz him and will play off of him so he has plenty of room to throw the short passes that he can only throw now. I want you to remember I wrote that and during the game I want you to hear me 800 miles away from my couch yelling HE CANNOT THROW ANYTHING BUT SHORT TOUCH TIMING PASSES, WHY THE HELL ARE WE PLAYING 8 YARDS OFF THE RECEIVER AND ALLOWING THOSE SHORT OUTS, INS AND BUBBLE SCREENS. That said, I’m a Steelers guy. We’ll find a way to win. Even if Ben Roetlhlisberger went on television to explain his injury situation in detail. Just give them the game plan already. Now they know you can’t throw deep, can’t throw outs … all you can do is float short passes and bubble screens. Nice work, dumbass.
