SKINNIER MUF

Mammoth Lakes Town Council approved a revised plan for the multi-use facility planned for Mammoth Creek Park with a 3-1 vote at Wednesday’s Council meeting. Mayor Hoff voted against the motion and Councilman Kirk Stapp abstained.

Original bids for what was originally planned as a $9.5 million project came in at approxmiately double that amount.

Town staff provided Council Wednesday with two options that would fit into a $13 million budget. Option 1: a ‘Roof and Rink’ without a community center. Option 2: a community center and a rink without a roof. In the blueprints, the community center appears to be an entrance with a check-in desk, restrooms, storage, and a classroom. During MUF construction, the accessible playground would close but otherwise wouldn’t be affected.
