Early morning crash in Mammoth

car wreck
An early morning accident occurred when this driver swerved to avoid hitting a dog.

At approximately 8:10 a.m. on Monday, June 17 a single-vehicle crash occurred near the north entrance to The Trails neighborhood in Mammoth Lakes. A 52-year-old woman from Lee Vining was driving north on Meridian Boulevard into the Town of Mammoth Lakes when she said she swerved to avoid a dog in the road, Mammoth Lakes Police Chief Dan Watson said. Her truck hit a boulder, tipped and nearly ended up on the bike path.

“She was complaining of some minor pain so we [MLPD] drove her to the hospital,” Watson said.

A tow truck came and removed the vehicle.

See the photo caption. Did she swerve to hit the dog or to avoid it???

I’m sure the dog appreciates that.
