FOI SEEKS OHV GRANT $$’s

Friends of the Inyo is seeking state funding for restoration and enhancement of off-highway vehicle recreation areas across the Inyo National Forest.

FOI recently submitted a preliminary application to the Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division of California State Parks for the 2010 grant cycle. Potential funding will be used to support work in the INF by professional stewardship crews and volunteers.

The Grants and Cooperative Agreements Program facilitates well managed off-highway vehicle recreation in the State of California by providing financial assistance to cities, counties, districts, federal agencies, state agencies, educational institutions, federally recognized Native American Tribes and nonprofit entities.

Grants submitted to the OHMVR Division can be viewed at: www.ohv.parks.ca.gov/. Questions or comments can be sent to FOI Executive Director Paul McFarland at paulmc@friendsoftheinyo.org.
