Page 2: The Clark complaint
The testiness over the Measure Z ballot measure in Mammoth reached new highs (or a new low, whichever you prefer) last weekend.
Sharon Clark, a Measure Z proponent, filed the following complaint at the Mammoth Lakes Police Dept.
Date: September 4
Location: ML Post Office
Time of encounter: Approximately 3:45 — 4 pm
I was trying to rearrange a Let Mammoth Decide bumper sticker on the PO bulletin board. Someone had removed the sticker I put up on Monday. A friend, Louray McGrale, came over to talk to and thank me for the work LMD was doing. All of a sudden a man behind me grabbed the sticker out of my hands, crumpled it up and threw it away. I complained and he started yelling at me: “lies, special interest group, costing our town $50,000, etc.” I responded that the election was the town’s choice. He yelled back but I ignored him and retrieved my sticker out of the recycle can. I asked Louray if she knew who the man was; she did not. He continued yelling at us and I began shaking. Louray hugged me and tried to calm me down. We went outside and OJ Zeleny came over to us. The man was getting into his big grey silver truck and continued yelling “lies, Von’s, special interest group, old ladies, etc”. This time he called me by name: “Sharon Clark” and that really began to shake me up. I asked OJ if she knew him; yes, he was Tim Flynn. We chatted for a few minutes. OJ gave me a hug and I began to regain some semblance of normalcy.
I went to my car and started to back up, stopped because there was a big silver grey truck waiting for me. I waved a thank you and left the PO parking lot. The truck followed me. I slowed to see if the truck would pass me on Main street…but it did not. The truck simply stayed behind me but I could not see the driver due to the glint of the sun. I was very uncomfortable.
As I continued towards home via Lake Mary Road, Davison and John Muir Road, each time I turned a corner, so did the truck. In fact, when I pulled into my garage the truck went up the road, turned around and went back down John Muir Road. I started shaking again….realizing that it had probably been following me. That’s never happened to me before.
Because I thought this encounter was due to the fact that I’ve been very involved in the LMD campaign, I shared the incident with our ‘core’ group lest others endure a similar meeting with Tim Flynn. The advice was to file a police report. I hesitated for a long while. For the well-being of all of us, I have filed this report.

When asked about the incident, Mr. Flynn said Ms. Clark was not rearranging a bumper sticker so much as covering a No on Z flyer with her Yes on Z propaganda.
Flynn and Kevin Green claim that approximately 20 “No on Z” yard signs have not-so-mysteriously disappeared since they were put up last week.
Stealing signs is a misdemeanor of petty theft and can carry a maximum penalty of a $1,000 fine or imprisonment of up to six months.
With this as a backdrop, Matthew Lehman and I are serving as moderators for a Measure Z debate/discussion next Thursday. The event will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the Mammoth Lakes Arts Center.
Lehman said Sandy Hogan and Kathy Cage have agreed to represent the Yes on Z side while Paul Rudder and David Page will represent No on Z.
Finally, I received an email earlier this week entitled “Formal Notice: Community Skis is Moving from Mammoth.”
But apparently, not so fast. When I spoke to co-owner Michael Lish this week, he said Community Skis may relocate in a fully-equipped manufacturing trailer to the Sierra Nevada Resort property.
Lish and Berner Street’s on-site property manager Robin Thompson were in court Thursday, as Thompson sought to extend a temporary restraining order, which he said had been violated three times within the first ten days.
In court, Thompson played a recorded, profanity-laced voice message that Lish left for a Mr. Dorchester, who serves as the leader of the Yavapai Nation (owner of the property).
“F&*k you, Mr. Dumbshit Dorchester,” railed Lish at one point. He also called Thompson a scumbag and implied that Thompson was stealing from the tribe.
Lish, said Thompson, is four months behind on rent, which is why he has been recently served with an unlawful detainer (order to vacate) the Berner Street premises.
Sheet: Has Community Skis left?
Thompson: They haven’t left and they don’t plan on leaving. They’re homesteading.
Judge Stan Eller granted Thompson a three-year restraining order on Thursday.

Lish is a dumb ass! Can’t pay his taxes, can’t pay his rent, can’t pay his child support. Fishing for new investors so he can party all-night-long and make crappy skis with super glue and no sidewalls. Ill bet he doesn’t own enough of his company anymore after selling it off over and over to buy materials. Time to dump those investors and start a new CON in another town.Good riddance!
