The California Golden State Mountain Bike Championships drew 500 riders making 609 starts (some competed in multiple disciplines) last weekend at MMSA.
Top local finishers included Luke Wynen and Gabe Taylor, who went 1-2 in the Cross Country sport division, Men’s 27-34.
Lunch’s former boss Joani Lynch won the Women’s Cross Country in the 35+ sport division.
Chris Robinette finished 2nd in the Women’s Cross-Country for those under 34, impressive since she even managed to stop and pick up recycling along the way.
DJ Rodney O grooved his way to 12th in the kamikaze (expert open division), while Matt Clausen finished 9th.
Trevor Souza finished 4th in the Beginner Men’s (11-12) age group for the downhill.
Brian Erciso finished 21st in the men’s downhill (pro division), Eric Hunter took 4th in the Super-D (19-39 age group), Jim Lynch was 3rd in the 40+ age group of the Super-D and Kelli Cummins competed in the Open Women’s division.
