Female snowboarder perishes over weekend
February 27, 2010 – MAMMOTH LAKES, CA – At approximately 1:30 p.m. today Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrol received a report of a missing 43- year old female snowboarder. She was last reported seen at 11:30 a.m. in the Chair 12 area near a run called Secret Spot. Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrol commenced an immediate search of the vicinity. At approximately 4:25pm the victim was located in a tree well, below the surface of the snow. CPR was started immediately and every effort was made to revive the victim in the field. She was quickly transported to the Main Lodge Patrol Room. Mono County paramedics arrived at the scene at 5:05 p.m. and the victim was pronounced dead.
