Seven candidates are officially in the race for Mammoth Lakes Town Council, according to Town Clerk Jamie Gray. John Eastman, Sharon Clark, Kirk Stapp, Rick Wood, Dawn Vereuck, Tony Barrett and Matthew Lehman all made the Friday March 12 deadline for filing paperwork. However, since two incumbents, Wendy Sugimura and Neil McCarroll, did not file the deadline automatically gets extended until Wednesday, March 17 at 5 p.m.

According to Gray, Allen Blumer, the only candidate who announced he would be running but has yet to file is still very interested in running.

“Allen came in to file but was missing one form,” Gray explained. “I told him I would rather have all the documents at once.” Gray expects him to file by the new Wednesday deadline.
