Mammoth Lakes, CA – Non-profit, youth sporting organizations operating in Mammoth Lakes can apply to receive Youth Sports Funding from the Town of Mammoth Lakes.  To be considered, an application must be completed and submitted to the Town of Mammoth Lakes Tourism and Recreation office by 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 22.

Representatives from Youth Sporting organizations in Mammoth Lakes, who wish to apply for funding, or have a seasonal Facility Use Agreement with the Town of Mammoth Lakes, are invited to a meeting on March 18 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the Tourism and Recreation Conference Room.  Applications will be made available, and staff will be on hand to discuss the funding process and timeline.

Applications will be available after March 19 at the Mammoth Lakes Tourism and Recreation Office or online at www.visitmammoth.com/companyinfo.

The Mammoth Lakes Tourism and Recreation Commission will review all applications, giving special attention to a sports program that is a non-profit, has a high percentage of participants that are Mammoth Lakes area full time residents (including Crowley Lake and surrounding areas) and manages a sport program that involves large numbers of youth and incorporates the diverse population of the community.

Special attention will also be given to sport programs that have limited funding sources, have youth volunteer participation in public benefit projects and sport programs where youth and adults are involved in community events outside their program.

In addition to providing information on the Youth Sports Funding Application, representatives from each organization are highly encouraged to attend the Tourism and Recreation Commission meeting on Thursday, May 6 at 4 p.m. in Suite Z, where the Commission will make their recommendations.

Town Council will determine the final funding prioritization to each youth sporting organization on Wednesday, May 19.

Please submit the completed application to the Town of Mammoth Lakes Tourism and Recreation Office, located at 2520 Main Street (adjacent to the Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center) by 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 22.

To obtain additional information, or assistance, please call Stephanie Daniel at (760) 934-2712 ext. 1237. -Press Release
