This evening at 5 p.m. the newly elected members of the Mammoth Lakes Town Council will be sworn in and seated. Matthew Lehman begins work for the first time as a Council member, Rick Wood comes back after several years away from the dais, and incumbent John Eastman continues to carry the torch. These three join current Council members Skip Harvey and Jo Bacon during a tumultuous budget cycle.

Once the new Council members are seated, and after outgoing Mayor Neil McCarroll and Council member Wendy Sugimura have been duly recognized, a new Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem will be selected prior to the Council moving on to its regular meeting of the evening. During its regular meeting, Council will again revisit the Measure R spring funding cycle and will continue to discuss the budget. Interim Police Chief Dan Watson will also be introduced to the community.
