Mammoth daycare provider arrested for alleged child sexual abuse
According to a press release from the Mammoth Lakes Police Department and the Mono County District Attorney’s Office, Lupe Almaguer of Mammoth Lakes was arrested on the night of Oct. 5 pursuant to an arrest warrant. Almaguer, a daycare provider, was arrested for crimes of sexual abuse against two children who had previously been under his care but are now adults.
MLPD and MCDA are still completing their investigation. According to MLPD Chief Dan Watson, “He [Almaguer] was booked for five counts of 288 PC (Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Child under 14). He is in the Mono County Jail with a bail of $500,000.”
According to the press release, “Mr. Almaguer, the public, and concerned parents deserve a comprehensive investigation that is focused on finding the truth and achieving justice.”
