Hot Creek appeal to be re-argued

The Town of Mammoth Lakes will have the opportunity to re-argue its appeal of the Hot Creek litigation case to the State Appellate Court on Dec. 20, according to press release from Stuart Brown. The chance to re- argue has come about because one of the justices who heard the original appeal in October is retiring.

Original arguments were heard on Oct. 18 and left the Town concerned that the outcome may not go in its favor. The re-hearing will allow the Town to address some issues raised in October.

After the case is re-argued, the Court will have another 90 days to issue it’s decision on the $30 million case. -TOML/LAK

    Yet another hail Mary pass!

    It could happen…

I wish them the best of luck with that.

What is more important is how the TOML will rearrange itself after years and years of disappointment and incompetence.

They have become afraid, looking over their shoulder, on the look-out for somewhere to hide. No-one will make a decision until they have wrapped themselves in the security blanket of the widest possible consultation.

Stand up, stop picking over the bones of failure and blaming everyone else. Eventually no one will stand next to you at the water cooler for fear the stench of failure will overcome them.

When people fundamentally lack the understanding of what authority they or their colleagues have to act or make decisions, the rot sets in, and our little town dies.

Paralyzed by indecision and mismanagement no matter what the outcome they have to rid themselves of this rotting core, a town and airport manager that would allow this to take place.

They can not learn from past mistakes because they have buried the evidence so deep in changed names and internal structure the real truth can never be found.

Hold on to your failing employees yet another 90 days until the lawsuit is over then do what you all know MUST be done.
