Trail System Open House
Mammoth Lakes Trails and Public Access (MLTPA) and Mammoth Lakes Tourism will co-host the first-ever Mammoth Lakes Trail System (MLTS) Open House, at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, December 13 at The Westin Monache Resort. The event will include a detailed presentation that will get you up to speed on the current state of the MLTS, a recap of the developments that have happened over this past year, and a preview of things planned for the next couple of years, many of which will be made possible by Measure R.
Enjoy hot beverages and light refreshments, and chat with representatives of MLTS partner agencies and organizations such as the Inyo National Forest (INF), the Town of Mammoth Lakes (TOML), MLTPA, Mammoth Lakes Tourism and Mammoth Community Water District.
Of special interest will be an update on the work completed by the Sherwins Area Recreation Plan (SHARP) Summer 2010 Trails Technical Committee. Some of these plans may be implemented as early as this coming summer!
If you can’t make it to the event in person, register for the open-house webinar, which will have special presentations and comments from various speakers in real time. A link to register for the webinar is posted on www.mltpa.org.
Holiday “Grace”
While visiting Mary Canada in Kenya this spring, Dan and Carrie Meyers from InTouch MicroSpa met Grace Mwangata, a 20-year-old Kenyan girl, who lives with her parents in a small village called Timboni, on the coast of Kenya. Mary has known this exceptional family for more than a year.
Dan and Carrie would like to help Grace fulfill her dream of attending school and have personally pledged to give her $500 towards her tuition. Her school tuition is $800 dollars but that does not include her costs of living away from her family for one year. Will you help this exceptional person fulfill her dream? The Meyers are hoping to raise at least another $1,500. Maybe this will enable Grace to start her own salon when she receives her diploma!
If you’re able to help, make checks payable to Carrie Meyers, and drop them off at InTouch or mail them to PO Box 3536, Mammoth Lakes CA 93546.
Funds will be deposited in Mary Canada’s account and managed by her.
