Main Lodge lifts closed

The snow is here but the lifts aren’t quite running. Excited skiers and boarders will have to wait just a little longer to harvest fresh pow because according to Mammoth Mountain’s website, as well as several locals who attempted to hit the slopes today as the snow began to accumulate, all lifts at Main Lodge are closed because of high winds.

The snow report at www.mammothmountain.com stated “as of 1:30 p.m. the following lifts are running: Eagle Express, Schoolyard Express, Roller Coaster Express and Chairs 7, 8 and 21. All Main Lodge lifts will remain closed today.”

The last month has been a dry one for the Eastern Sierra. Between Jan. 13 and Feb. 15 there was one storm on Jan. 30, which brought 12 inches to Mammoth Mountain and even less to the Town of Mammoth Lakes.
