Mammoth locals Patty Hensley and Eric Leach took home gold medals at the 14th Annual Copa Pacifica Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition held last weekend in Westminster, Calif.

Hensley competed in the White belt, Female, Children’s 13-14 age group. She is a student in Leach’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class at Snowcreek Athletic Club, which is held Monday and Wednesday nights from 7-9 p.m. (and enjoys special guest appearances by Royce Gracie every now and then).

Leach, who has 18 years of martial arts experience, took home the gold in the Men’s Master’s Blue belt, 160 Division.

For more information about the class, which focuses on body mechanics and leveraging, call Leach at 949.690.5555. No experience is necessary to participate, but you must be 13 or older.
