Kathy Willhide-Michiulis, 43, the woman who was injured skiing after a collision with a snowcat on Mammoth Mountain on Friday, March 25, is currently recovering from her injuries at Renown Medical Center in Reno.

The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. as Willhide-Michiulis was making her final run of the day on lower Mambo, near the bottom of Stump Alley Express (Chair 2).

Willhide-Michiulis’s left leg got pinned underneath the snowcat during the collision and was ultimately removed just above the knee.

According to Kathy’s family via a Caring Bridge web journal, as of Wednesday, her right hip had been cleaned and repaired, an operation deemed crucial to her future mobility. Doctors say it appears as though her right leg will fully recover.
