“Barefoot in the Sanctuary,” a play by Eva Poole-Gilson, will be performed Nov. 2 & 3 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. at the Inyo Council for the Arts Theater, 137 South Main Street in Bishop. The play is based on poems and songs long important, useful, and inspiring to the playwright.

Before the play Gillian McChesney, of Mammoth Lakes, will sing a set of her favorite songs, accompanied by Greg Smith and Joe Cadotte.

This is a benefit for the Writers Actors Guild winter show. Please reserve your seat/purchase your ticket by calling 760.872.2446 or by emailing bkebkb@hotmail.com.

Poole-Gilson has taught poetry in Inyo and Mono counties’ schools for many years, sponsored by the statewide organization called California Poets in the Schools. Presently Poole-Gilson is coaching local students in the memorization and recitation of classic and contemporary poetry for participation in the national Poetry Out Loud competition — with final “rounds” held in Washington D.C. in the spring.
