Veterans Weekend fee free
The U.S. Forest Service will waive fees at recreation sites across the country Nov. 10-12 in recognition of Veterans Day Weekend. Locally on the Inyo National Forest, day-use fees will be waived at South Tufa in the Mono Basin National Forest Scenic Area and Schulman Grove in the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. The road to Schulman Grove, as well as the new visitor center, are expected to remain open until snowstorms close them for the season. Due to recent storms visitors traveling the White Mtn. Road to Schulman Grove should be prepared for some snow and/or ice on the road. Fees on the Inyo National Forest will remain in effect for overnight camping and wilderness permit reservations.

Buy a banner for the ice rink
To help support the Mammoth Lakes Ice Rink, consider becoming a rink supporter by buying a banner!
Last year, the rink had a record season with attendance and revenue – but it still operates at a deficit every year and needs public support to bridge that gap.
There is room on the rink boards for about 30 banners, which cost $400 apiece. They will be installed on the boards as a sticker through Bluebird Imaging.
A banner sponsorship gives you one transferable rink VIP pass for the season and a discount on skate renatls.
The rink is expected to open on Friday, Nov. 23.
