Thanks Whiskey

Dear Editor:

The Senior Class of Mammoth High School 2013 would like to extend our thanks to Whiskey Creek for hosting our Fall senior dinners. Our senior dinners pay for the end of the year senior trip where we get to enjoy the last bits of high school. Without the permission and accommodation from Greg Alexander, the owner of Whiskey Creek, and the manager Allison, our class would not be able to afford nor experience the bonding process of working together. Senior dinners are a small way of getting our class together, and a special way of earning money as a team. Again, thank you Whiskey Creek staff members and the entire community for your ongoing support, and helping us raise the funds needed for our trip and graduation.

Bailey Rowan
Senior Class President
Class of 2013

The “Big Day”

Dear Friends:

Well the Big Day, Oct. 20, has come and gone and what a perfect day it was! The MLTPA Website is now updated with photo albums, statistics and information on all of the big events – new trail building in Panorama Dome, the celebration, ribbon cutting, and grand opening of the Mammoth Lakes Trail System, and fundraising totals from MLTPA’s “Tools of the Trail System” fundraiser.

We’ve still got matching funds available through the end of the year — it’s not too late to see a contribution matched “Dollar for Dollar!” We’d like to thank all of our friends and partners, including the Inyo National Forest (INF), Town of Mammoth Lakes (TOML), Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association (ESIA), Friends of the Inyo (FOI), and all of the supporters and friends of MLTPA and the Mammoth Lakes Trails System for being part of the festivities.

Our Measure R contracts are close to complete, and MLTPA is now committing our energy to being part of a vigorous and engaged conversation regarding the future of the Mammoth Lakes Trail System, especially in light of the Town’s proposed restructuring plan. MLTPA will be an effective voice in the community’s conversation determining the future of the Mammoth Lakes Trail System and enhanced recreation in Mammoth Lakes … the Big Day was just the beginning.

Thanks to everybody who either turned out and built new trail, celebrated at the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening, or supported a new and enhanced Mammoth Lakes Trail System! Thanks for a truly Big Day!

John Wentworth
CEO/Board President
