On Dec. 18, 2012 the Mono County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted a resolution approving a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the County and Mono County Paramedic Rescue Association, and adopting new personnel rules and a new job description applicable to that bargaining unit. County legal counsel Marshall Rudolph explained that the MOU was currently a tentative agreement.

“The Association has not ratified it yet, but the County can go ahead and approve it on its end,” Rudolph explained. The agreement won’t be final until the Association approves it. EMS Director Lynda Salcido was not sure when the Association would be reviewing and voting on the new agreement. “And I’m not sure they do either,” she added.

The new agreement is expected to save the County $148,000 per year according to the staff report.
