Bob Hudson was born Sept. 13, 1939 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Frances and Norman Hudson. He served as a plane mechanic in the U.S. Air Force. Bob moved to Mammoth Lakes in 1969 and started Mammoth Crest Real Estate Company there. He also owned Center Street Rentals, the first heavy equipment rental business and Polaris snowmobile sales and rental business. He loved his only child Douglas Robert Hudson, his dogs Abby and Baron, his 1951 Hudson car, Clampers, hunting, fishing and being with his dear friends. He was a very kind and generous man who was loved by many and will not be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday Dec. 5 at Grumpy’s, his favorite watering hole, at noon. Please come and say CHEERS to our dear ol’ friend!

“Robert Hudson, our great friend, has passed from this Earth, and will be missed and remembered by many,” long-time friend Terri Migliaccio-Hartless wrote. “Bob was an entrepreneur, excelled in real estate, owner and operator of snowmobiles, great fisherman, and most of all a great friend. Bob opened his heart and his home to many, always had a helping hand to lend to those in need. He loved to entertain and was a great host. He was quite the chef and loved to feed us all. Rest in peace, Bob. Your friend forever, Terri.”

Another close friend, Sharon Stalley, is one of the executors of the will and helping the family with some arrangements, including finding homes for Hudson’s beautiful orphaned German short hairs. Anyone wanting to give a home to Bob’s two fabulous, hunting-trained, delightful mom and son (not neutered, but papered and valuable) SWEET dogs is asked to call Stalley at 760.937.5153. Preference is to keep them together.

Stalley added that a plan is in the works for a party sometime during the spring or summer on Hudson’s beloved Crowley Lake. Details will be announced at later date.

I knew Bob for 25 years. He was a humble man but had a real good sense of humor and was a fun guy. So long Bob. See ya on the other side.
