On tap for Saturday are classes in Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern, Tai Chi and even free Pilates classes.

The Kids’ classes are scheduled between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m.

Commission vacancy

A vacancy in an unexpired term exists on the Mammoth Lakes Mobility Commission. The term expires July 31, 2014. Interested parties should file an application with the Town Clerk on or before March 7. Application forms (“Application for Public Appointment”) may be obtained from the Town’s website, www.ci.mammoth-lakes.ca.us; or from Town Clerk Jamie Gray at the Town Offices on the 2nd floor of the Minaret Mall.

Wildlife field trip

Spend next Saturday afternoon, March 5 from 1-4 p.m., with Eastern Sierra Land Trust exploring an important section of our local wildlife migration corridor in Round Valley and Swall Meadows! Much of the private land in this narrow part of the corridor has been permanently preserved by ESLT to provide safe passage and critical habitat for Sierra wildlife.

Wildlife Biologist Tim Taylor from the California Department of Fish & Game will share knowledge and research on the Round Valley Mule Deer Herd and other wildlife that rely on this important area for successful migration and winter range habitat. Donation: $10 members, $15 non-members. Info/registration: contact Hillary Behr at hillary@eslt.org.

Kindergarten dental exams

Free dental check-ups will be offered before and after the Mammoth Elementary School’s Kindergarten Round Up main event this coming Wednesday, March 2 at 6 p.m. at the Mammoth Elementary School cafeteria.

California law requires that children have a dental check-up by May 31 of their first school year. Local dentists Drs. Schrager and Fujimoto will be on hand from 5-6 and 7-8 p.m. for FREE dental check ups. No pre sign-up is necessary.
