Playground equipment still unchecked

The Recreation Commission is still trying to get the Town Council to pay attention to an emergency item that it has been concerned with since October 2010. The playground equipment at Mammoth Creek Park is no longer ADA compliant and will either need to be removed or replaced. The Commission agreed to request that it be placed on the Council’s April 20 agenda with the strong wording that if new equipment cannot be purchased, then the current equipment must be removed and the park simply left empty.

How about a little more reporting before you post something like this? What’s the agenda here? Is the Commision trying to exert some sort of authority because Council isn’t responding to them? Are they pushing for new equipment? If so, why exactly and how much will it cost? Don’t forget ADA changes every few years. So, was the equipment when installed complaint at that time? Is all of the equipment noncomplaint or just a small portion? Oh and don’t forget to add what would happen if Council decided not do anything with the equipment – which by the way has been serving the community well for all these years.
