MHS sports roundup
In addition to MHS Football’s inaugural 8-man football romp last Saturday, other teams have been equally busy.
According to MHS Football Coach James Gray, the JV Boys’ Football team beat Desert Christian by a touchdown in its first official game two weeks ago. Next up, they’ve got Bishop for homecoming on Oct. 2. That game will be played under the lights at Gault-McClure starting at 7 p.m.
The varsity, meanwhile, plays a return 8-man game against Immanuel Christian in Ridgecrest on Sept. 26 at 2 p.m.
The MHS Girls Tennis team beat Bishop 16-2 in a home match Tuesday afternoon at the Snowcreek Athletic Club. Coach Karen Philbrook: “The doubles team won all of their matches and the singles team won all but 2 of 9. We have a really good team this year, so I am hopeful for many wins this season, if not the championship.”
