Cheatham is Jell-O queen
There’s nothing that gets DJ Rodney O (in red) more excited than jello wrestling. (Photos: Wolf)
Last Wednesday, while I peered down on a couple of grappling women rolling around in an inflatable pool of Jell-O, I briefly thought of all the good times I’ve had growing up with the jiggly substance and then I immediately chalked this one up as the greatest.
The best way to describe the cherry flavored ethos from the single elimination Jell-O wrestling tournament at Whiskey Creek is to create a splattered mental collage of Gallagher, Baywatch and Fight Club.
A total of 14 female contestants took part in the brawl but the overall winner of the night, Allison Cheatham, faced off in the final round with Winter Lindsey and walked away with a gift certificate for 2 free rounds of Grey Goose bottle service. “It was a great turnout. I‘ve been in Mammoth for 20 years and I was blown away. Everyone just had a great time and all the girls were good sports,” stated DJ Rodney O.
Toward the end of the night the bar looked as if a Jell-O grenade had gone off, and while deciding whether or not I can ever enjoy cherry flavored Jell-O in the same way again, I realized my clothes and face were completely covered in the remains of arguably the best bar event of the summer. “We’re already planning on making this an annual or bi-annual event,” said Rodney O.
I am so thankful that the sheet published the event, but I was bummed that no one mentioned that this was my birthday party idea and that I led its organization and coordination with the help of my amazing man, Daryl Westbrook Hoffman.
By the way, the ref in the all white polo is none other than Austin McReynolds.
Thank you so much for the additional information and Happy Birthday!
