New District Plan on the table
A new year and a new Neighborhood District Plan for the Town of Mammoth Lakes. The Planning Commission will review the proposed framework for the South Districts Neighborhood District Plan (SDNDP) on Jan. 12 in Suite Z at 2 p.m. The framework includes the proposed study areas and spheres of influence, guiding principles, and key issues for the areas to be addressed in the SDNDP process.
The South Districts NDP covers three separate but adjacent planning districts: Sierra Star, East Open Space Stream Corridor (East OSSC), and South Old Mammoth Road Districts. Draft planning studies were previously completed for the Sierra Star and East OSSC districts; although the projects for which district planning was originally initiated have been withdrawn, relevant outcomes and recommendations of those drafts will be considered in the SDNDP process, along with other planning issues and opportunities.
Following the Planning Commission’s review and recommendation on the framework it will be brought to the Town Council for review and acceptance at its Feb. 2 meeting. Public workshops for the SDNDP will be scheduled for mid-February and March.
Documents and information related to the SDNDP Framework are available on the Town’s website.
